It's "vendOr", but "sellEr" (and "cellAr", but never mind that). "Trainer" and "teacher", but "tutor". How does one remember? Talker, speaker, orator, interlocutor.
English was devised by a bunch of silly fuckors, wasn't it?
English truly is crazy and there are A LOT of spelling words. A good practice, when making signs, is to consult a dictionary. Some errors live on for a long time.
My least favorite of these is the debate over the spelling of "advisor" and "adviser." It comes down to style, and people get foamy debating which is right.

I've been driving in circles and looking for that parking spot for weeks!
Mais, c'est très compliqué, n'est-ce pas?
