Warning: Dirty Jokes Ahead

Close, but no, um, cigar. Wait, no. This sign--it is a hair off. Hoo-hah! Missing letters just make us crotchety, we guess.

If only the URL had been southbendover.com, we would have died of laughter (giddy and juvenile laughter, but still).

And we wouldn't want to go to this school, either. Not with their non-standardized form of testing.

Oh man... amazing. Nothing is more entertaining than spelling/grammatical errors committed by teachers and/or school officials. You'd think they would do better than the average person, but this is rarely the case!

Very funny! If only I had the opportunity to go and correct them both.

Thanks, Martha. So close to my friend who does PR. The local paper announced her business as pubic relations. HA!

It looks like George Beard and Harold Hutchins meddled with the second sign.

Here's a tip, by the way: the MS Word spelling dictionary is an MS Word file, and can be edited. You can remove words as well as add them. A friend of mine removed the word "manger", to avoid misstating her job title. Similarly, one could remove the word "pubic". On the off chance that one actually means to use those words, one can cope with the spelling checker's objection.

I don't know if it'd have helped the sign people, but perhaps one of this august blog's readers can benefit.

Thanks for the comments, everyone.

And Barry, this is a great tip--although how ANYONE could live without the word "pubic" in the Word dictionary is beyond me. (Joke alert!)

The school sign isn't a spelling error. Look at the A in exam... it's different. The I in final fell into the F making it look like an A. Thankfully, that school is okay when it comes to spelling.

On the school sign, the I fell into the F on Final. Look at the A's. They're different.

Um… isn't it obvious that the "I" in "FINAL" is askew? Probably done by prenksters

Assuming the Lexington Middle School example isn't a bad Photoshop job (notice the "A" in Anal is different from the other capital As), I would strongly suspect it was the work of one of the many 12-14 year old boys at the school, not the actual school.
