What I find funny here is the space in the middle of "LIER." It's as if the writer paused in the middle of the word, wondering whether an E or an A came next, and during the pause in mental space the marker's momentum kept it moving rightward in physical space.
Is this sign evidence of a loosening of American's "Kern Belt"?
Craig, look how hard they worked to keep the words straight. You can still see the pencil lines! Would it have been any more difficult to consult a dictionary?
