Not Exactly Grammar

California Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger is being accused of hiding a secret message in this letter. His office says the dirty word therein is nothing more than a coincidence.

SPOGG is agog if it was intended, though. Clever, direct, and ballsy. Good writing, Governator.

I'm pretty sure some poor copywriting plebe is getting fired right now.

Fired? No way. A book deal and a Republican party mug/pencil holder set seems more likely. :-)

Jeepers Martha, I'm as big a fan of dirty words as the next guy. But I read the letter three times and still come up empty-worded. Give a me clue. Where's the obscured obscenity?

I had to google this one. For those having trouble seeing it, look at the first letter on each line and read down.

I think he's trying out possible careers for after leaving office. A good acrostic writer surely has a future in greeting cards, don't you think?

Yes, mightyredpen! The word I failed to mention is acrostic. And acrostic greeting cards with subliminal messages would be a huge, huge hit.

Oh, how I wish it were intentional.

Haha. Acrostics are fun! I was tripping up with ‘water reform,’ as I thought he intended to change the course of nature...
