If Money were the answer, Washington DC and Detroit public schools would be world class and not producing graduates with a 60% literacy rate. Vouchers force competition and innovation and allow the poor to get out of the leftist trap.
Is the problem that the students cannot learn it, that the teachers cannot teach it, or is there simply not enough time in a twelve-year cycle to fit it in?
(Yes, I am aware that I ended my sentence with a preposition, and I am duly ashamed, but for stylistic purposes . . . ).
